IMPORTANT UPDATE

Dear Students,
After much consideration and listening to your concerns, West Virginia University has decided to make changes to the previously established International Student Fee.

          • International graduate students on assistantships will not pay the fee. It will show up on your bills, but it will be considered part of the             assistantship stipend and “waived” by the University.

          • International graduate students without assistantships will not pay the fee for the 2017-2018 academic year.  There will be further             discussions on the impact of the fee to decide whether it should be applied to graduate students.

          • International undergraduate students will not pay the fee for the 2017 fall semester, but will be assessed the fee for the 2018 spring             semester, providing more advanced notice.

Given the late implementation of the fee, Global Affairs and the Office of the Provost have decided to delay implementation to allow you more time to plan for the increase in cost.  We hope you could attend our Q&A session yesterday, but if you weren’t, we still welcome your feedback.
If you have any questions about these changes, please do not hesitate to reach out to International Students and Scholars Services at isss-students@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-3519.
