Information for Host Families

CAN YOU HELP?

Because of the increase in the number of international students, families are always needed for the students who wish to participate in this program each semester. Our best source of hosts is through current members. Do you know someone you think might be interested? If so, please give us his/her name, address, and phone number.

The program is fun, it’s interesting, and it works. All you need is the desire to open your home to an international student, which in turn enriches your life and widens your horizons while making an individual yet significant contribution to world fellowship.

HOSPITALITY

Perhaps you would like to be placed on our hospitality register. Two or three times per year those on the hospitality register have the opportunity to host an international guest for one or two nights. Temporary housing is needed for incoming students during August and for the Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks while the University dorms are closed. If you can help, please check the box below.

Also, during the holiday seasons such as Christmas or Thanksgiving, hospitality might be an invitation to dinner or an evening visit with an American family.

For further information, or if you are interested in welcoming the world at your door by becoming a friend to one or more students, please telephone Karen Bird at (304) 293-3519.
