New or Future Students

If you are considering enrolling at WVU, either as a new or a transfer student, you will need to contact International Admissions. If you are currently an international student at another school in the United States, you will need to submit a Transfer Form to International Admissions.

If your I-20 has been issued after September 1, 2004 and you will be entering the U.S. for the first time as a student or after a prolonged absence, or applying for a change of status or reinstatement, you must pay the new SEVIS fee. F-1 Student guidelines are slightly different from J-1 Exchange Visitor guidelines. Please read them carefully and follow instructions. Nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors in more than 130 countries are able to pay the I-901 SEVIS fee locally using the Western Union Quick Pay Service. Please read the instructions for this payment option and others on the SEVP website.

NOTE: As mentioned on your Arrival Sheet, the only way for you to get to Morgantown from the Pittsburgh airport is Airport Limousine Plus or by bus.

If you have been admitted to WVU, please see the Information Page, and fill out the Arrival Sheet and submit it online or print out the Arrival Sheet and mail in it. Be sure that we have it at least two weeks before your arrival. This will assure that we are able to provide the appropriate materials & assistance for you as you adjust to life at WVU and in Morgantown—for example, temporary housing will be available when you arrive ONLY if we have the Arrival Sheet at least two weeks before your arrival.

If you will be a freshman, University 101 is a required course. For the Fall 2007 semester, you are eligible to apply for Adventure WV to replace that course through an enjoyable one-week program that will end just before our orientation begins.

When you arrive, you may fill in the Contact Information Sheet at (see schedule here), or you can fill it in online, print it, and bring it with you when you report to our office or the first day of orientation, whichever comes first.. You MUST bring your I-20 (F-1) or DS-2019 (J-1), your passport (including your visa and I-94), and a pen with you to orientation.
